Mr. and Mrs. Birrell reached out to us to refresh their home in Winchburgh. They were tired of their dated floor tiles but wanted to avoid the disruption and mess of a full removal. The challenge was to achieve a modern, high-quality finish while working efficiently over their existing flooring - ensuring both durability and a flawless aesthetic result.
After carefully assessing the condition of the tiled floors, we recommended installing a 5mm high-density underlay to create a perfectly smooth and stable surface. This method allowed us to fit new flooring without removing the tiles, saving time while maintaining structural integrity and comfort underfoot.
On top of the underlay, our team fitted a beautiful 8mm herringbone laminate - chosen for its timeless style and durability. The flooring was installed across the hallway, sunroom, kitchen/diner, and W/C, creating a seamless visual flow that ties the entire home together. We paid close attention to pattern alignment and transitions between rooms to achieve a truly cohesive finish. Finally, matching beading was added throughout for a clean, polished edge that complements the herringbone design perfectly.
The Birrells’ home now feels brighter, more spacious, and effortlessly elegant. The new herringbone laminate delivers both practicality and style, completely revitalising their living space without the need for messy tile removal.
